Construction of an inclusive playground featuring a swing for people with limited mobility, wheelchair access to the play equipment, and access to the play equipment via a level surface.
Description
The goal of the project was to create a playground accessible to all children, in order to foster collaboration and inclusion for children with limited mobility. This will allow them to interact with other children, and the children will learn to share and accept those who are different from themselves.
Schifflange lacked an inclusive playground, and the needs were assessed in collaboration with the Schifflange “Design for All” association. Based on all this information, this playground was planned and built.
Children of all ages and with all kinds of disabilities can be seen on this playground, playing together without paying attention to their differences.
